Bio:
Dr. NGUYEN Dang Tung, a Swiss National Foundation (SNF) fellow, is currently working on the development of organic-semiconducting-based sensors. His work on mechanical sensors is in a collaboration with Prof. Yon Visell in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He obtained his PhD from the laboratory of photonic materials and fiber devices (FIMAP) of Prof. Fabien Sorin in the department of Materials Science and Engineering at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. His thesis consisted of developing functional fibers and textiles for wearable electronics and for bio-engineering applications. Besides, he helped Prof. Sorin to build up the lab and participated to the conception and making of key research equipment (lab-size thermal drawing tower, high-precision hot-press, and thermal evaporator). Prior to his doctoral study, he graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris (X2007, Specialization in Materials and Nano-objects (SMNO)), France in 2011, and was a research engineer in Saint-Gobain Glass in 2012, working on the coating of smart windows via magnetron sputtering.
