Recombination dynamics of organic photovoltaic devices

Bio

Joachim Vollbrecht received his BSc. in chemistry in 2011 and his MSc. in optoelectronics and photonics in 2013 at the University of Paderborn. During an internship at the Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal (Pessac/Bordeaux) he synthesized several perylene-derivatives suitable as emitters for OLEDs. From 2013 - 2016 he studied and characterized the spectroscopic, optoelectronic, liquid crystalline, and electrochemical properties of this class of compounds in detail in the research group of Prof. H. Kitzerow. He received his PhD with distinction in the second half of 2016. In 2017, he continued his work on organic semiconductors as a postdoc in the same research group. He focused on liquid crystalline dithienothiophene-derivatives as potential compounds for OFETs and started to investigate a new class of dibenzocoronene-esters. Since 2018, he is a Feodor-Lynen-fellow in the Nguyen-research group and specializes in the charge recombination dynamics of fullerene-free solar cells.
